USE AND TREATMENT OF MARBLE

As you well know, marble is a natural stone and as such, it has no protection from chemical and atmospheric agents. The tops used for our tables are all treated with anti-stain with simple wax and anti-drop to avoid that ugly and yellowish plastic protection that takes away the beautiful feeling we have to the touch. However, like all natural treatments, you must pay attention to its use and maintenance. We will briefly explain which the damaging agents and the treatments are to be performed to always have a table in perfect condition

HOW TO CLEAN MARBLE

Marbles must never be cleaned with ANY CHEMICAL DETERGENT which, having aggressive properties on the surface of the marble top, removes the protection we give on it (antidrop and wax) and can make it capable of absorbing any liquid and becoming opaque. Marble must be cleaned only with water and alcohol (denatured ethyl alcohol). It is also advisable to periodically repeat a protective treatment (maximum 1 year depending on the use of the table) with a common wax for marble (also available in hardware stores) to keep it shiny and protected.

PRODUCTS ON WHICH TO PAY THE MAXIMUM ATTENTION

Wine, Sparkling Wine, Fruit Juices, Coffee, Lemon, Orange, Vinegar, Coke, Oil, Tomato and others. In practice, they are all products containing natural or chemical acids which can corrode the wax protection and stain the marble (sometimes even irrecoverably). Therefore, we always recommend using coasters or placemats to ensure that they do not come into contact with the top. In the event that the aforementioned should come into contact, it is advisable to clean (following the paragraph HOW TO CLEAN MARBLE) within a maximum of 5 minutes after the liquid has been poured on the tabletop, and to treat it again to prevent that, in the same position where the stain was created, some corrosive liquid could be spilled again and permanently damage the marble.

HOW TO CLEAN THE LAMINATE

Laminate is a wood that is highly resistant to scratches, but we recommend cleaning it by soaking a sponge cloth with simple warm water or alcohol (denatured ethyl alcohol).
